Sunday morning while driving to church on the 10 Fwy, an amazing event unfolded before my very eyes. My truck was loaded with two huge 3 x 4 foot cargo carts, among other things. One of the carts was packed full of toys for KidsChurch. Suddenly and out of no where, the cart went AIRBORN and crashed in the middle of the freeway! I saw
small toys flying all over a couple lanes… lost forever. I called my wife Kirstin to report the news… thankfully we had more toys in the back seat of the truck… The word spread like wildfire and the set up team would not let me off the hook… they were relentless…I may never hear the end of it!
I know that I am always talking about the church that I see… but let me take a moment to share about the church that
I see… a church that is OVER THE TOP welcoming people from the moment they pull into the parking lot. The church that I see has WAVES of greeters… making people feel right at home. I see an AMAZING TEAM that welcomes people all over the church campus. If you call Sanctuary your home, please be encouraged to welcome people!
I see a church that helps people reach their potential in God. A church that inspires people to CONNECT with Christ in a real and genuine way. A church that is fearless in challenging people to follow Jesus with all their heart.
Sanctuary is a place where the message is simple, biblical, and to the point. We want to present God’s truth in a creative, compelling, and challenging way. Our desire is to communicate the timeless truths of the bible and do so by connecting with our culture in a relevant way. The Sanctuary service is designed to be engaging as we focus on how to APPLY the bible to everyday life. I live with this overwhelming sense that Sanctuary has been entrusted with a sacred opportunity…
We now have two worship teams! The worship is dynamic, passionate, and loud… with a flow of new songs as well
as treasured hymns. Why throw away 200+ years of sacred worship? Sanctuary is forward reaching, yet connected to a legacy of worship we wish to honor. This does not mean that people have to enter a time warp to worship God! We
often put a contemporary instrumental spin on a great hymn and jazz it up alittle. We are inspired by the powerful words and immense theology that flowed through the pens of worshipers whose hearts were captivated by the love of God.
THINGS I AM EXCITED ABOUT…
“RAWHIDE” Western BBQ this Sunday… is going to be AWESOME! This is a “BRINGER EVENT” and its not to late to INVITE A FRIEND! Don’t forget your cowboy hat!!! Dress up encouraged but not mandatory!
YOUTH now have a fantastic meeting place… which is incredibly cool… take a look at room #12 and check out where they meet… Mike and Jannae Thompson are doing a wonderful job with the youth. IF YOU HAVE A HEART FOR YOUTH,
WE NEED FOUR ADULTS (18 or over…) to help with the youth ministry RIGHT NOW!!! We have grown very quickly to about 30 students in attendance weekly!
