Let me weigh in with my ruminations on…
(1) THE BIBLE… I just started listening to the bible on Cd… its amazing how much of the bible you can absorb in your car…
You can study it. Ponder it. Digest it.
Meditate on it. Listen to it.
Do it again…
Why? It’s straight from God Himself! Unfiltered. Undiluted.
Real answers for real problems.
Real help for real life.
Wisdom. Direction. Warnings. Instruction. Counsel.
You can also get God’s word at Sanctuary every weekend, on the web, and during the week in small groups.
(2) WHY I SPEND TIME WITH MEN ON FRIDAY MORNINGS…
- I need men who are on the journey beside me…
- I get to watch God at work in their lives… listening to God’s word, interacting, and responding to God’s word.
- I get time with men taking real steps toward Christ. I look in their eyes and see that they are serious about following Jesus.
- How often do I get to connect with such men? Not often enough!
- There is a mutual strengthening in being together in a room with a bunch of other men on the same mission and moving in the same direction to follow Jesus.
Heb. 10:25 ”Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another and to show love and to do good. Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since that you see the day approaching”.
I believe that God wants us to take the next step in the journey.
(3) THE NEW PRESIDENT…
Given the state of our union, its going to be a rough road for any elected president. Tonight while I was doing my “bedtime prayers with Garrett,” I was interrupted from my normal prayer thoughts. I began to pray for the new president. I have been feeling this weight or burden to keep praying.
May we be anxious for nothing, but in everything with prayer and thanksgiving, let our requests be made known unto God, and the peace of God, which passes all understanding will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
